Default Sexing for a new little one

Got a new little sweetheart today. Was told it was about 15 weeks or so. I'm pretty sure it's a female but I'm still so new at this! Also color advice is sure appreciated, as I am still so new to it all! I'll try to get better pictures tomorrow in natural light, but the cere is pretty accurate to actual color.
Thanks!!

What a fine looking bird....

I am not very good with mutations. Look's to be a greywing, recessive pied, in the pics on my screen I can almost see a hint of yellow in the face and head, is it that way in person or just my screen and eyes...

I wont guess the sex but if it is indeed recessive pied, the males keep pink to purple colored cere's in adulthood. More pics would be great, especially natural light (no flash) closeups of the cere, that way someone who knows what they are talking about can come along and tell you for sure....

What a cutie! From the pictures you posted, he appears to be male, but it will help when you've got the other close-ups in natural light

Randy is sort of close on the mutation --he appears to be a mauve (possibly grey violet), spangle, yellowface I budgie although to see the actual face colour, again, natural light would be better

He's beautiful and congrats on your new addition

Those photos seem to have been taken in artificial lighting and that can affect the true colours of the cere.
From those pics, I'd say your budgie is a young female.
For better accuracy and in order to confirm your budgie's gender, it's best to post a picture in natural light, no flash from camera.

Wow, the difference in the pictures is amazing! It's like a different bird....I think it is a Cobalt Spangle Opaline Yellow Face boy. The blue in his body colour looks a bit odd for Cobalt, but I think it is too dark for Skyblue and not greyish enough for Mauve...
