Long story short, I lost one of my budgies very suddenly back in July. I was so heartbroken and felt so guilty because I couldn't figure out what happened. So much so I didn't even want to post about it here.
But I will post about her soon in the memoriam forum.
My little Pai Mei needed a few friend, and after some recovery time, I decided I would adopt a new budgie in need of a home instead of buying a new one from the pet store. In my grief, it felt more meaningful that way.
In August I ended up at the SPCA and finding not one, but two new budgie friends! (I couldn't leave the other one all alone!)
And here they are on meeting day! (after quarantine and side-by-side cage time)
The new girls are Skywrath (centre) and Isperia (right). Skywrath's age is unknown, but she is easily a senior bird. She had some health problems initially that the vet said were likely due to poor living conditions, but she is doing much better now, and is more active and playful.
Isperia is just a baby, only 6 months in this photo, and quite a little rascal.
I need some advice on this cutie trio, but I'll post about that in a separate thread, soon.
