Default Live plants/trees for budgie "play room"- what is safe?

Hey all,

I decided I really want to incorporate trees / potted plants in my bird room for when they come out to play- but can't find any definitive answer as to what is safe and available in Massachusetts/USA. All the lists I've found are way to broad and, in most cases- include plants I'd never be able to find around here.

Any help would be sooo appreciated!! My budgies thank you in advance!! I have 4 now

Hi there!

It's great you're incorporating some live plants into your bird room!

As for potted plants, some safe ones are:
Spider plants
African Violet
Bromeliad

For trees, here's a list. Some say if the bark or leaves are toxic, so you shouldn't put those in the room. I hope that helps!

We have a spider plant downstairs that we are waiting to get cut off's from to put upstairs- we got one before and the budgies destroyed it.
I have some bamboo in my room and I also get potted herbs for them as well.

Rosemary has been going down very well with them recently.
