So I have a certain cage that I bought, it is pretty large, but was meant fo cockatiels. So I decided to give it a test. My budgies soon figured out that they can get out between the bars. So whenever I keep budgies in that cage they always get out. Is there anyway I could prevent them from getting out without me wanting them to? Maybe I could modify the cage a bit? This cage is large and it's not cheap and I would like to keep it and be able to keep budgies in it. Any suggestions?
You could attach stainless steel mesh to the bars but it would be an eye sore and stainless steel mesh can be pretty pricey. It would be much easier to sell the cage and buy a budgie appropriate cage. Who know you could maybe even work out a straight trade for a more appropriate cage. Try facebook, often times there are local aviculture and bird owner groups specifically for selling and buying bird supplies locally.
