Default I got a new cage

I got my budgie a new big cage, and yeah he went in it but I noticed that he became nervous like when I brougt him home first time. He used to eat from my hand normally but now he doesn't want to eat from my hand, is that normal or?

How much time he will take to settle up in his new cage?

Anytime you introduce something new to your budgie he is going to be nervous for awhile. That is very normal.

There is no way to know how long it will take him to settle into his new home as each budgie has his/her own personality. I would imagine that within a week he will be feeling more comfortable.

We'd love to see pictures of your budgie (what is his name?) and his new cage.

I agree completely with Deborah

Another consideration is that if the cage is larger than the previous one, he may just want to explore his house for a good long while with no interruptions and not want to come out or interact with you. I got Mallorn a cage for her birthday last year and it was almost three times larger than her previous cage. For the first two or three weeks, she rarely, if ever, came out and hated me going in there. After she explored as much as she could and got fully settled in, she started interacting with me outside the cage more

Congratulations on the new cage!
