We are happy to announce we have added another little girl to our family. We now have 3 girls! This one is special, I rescued her from a pet shop. She had an accident at the store and she ended up losing her toes and a small bit of her leg. We are happy to announce we have added another little girl to our family. We now have 3 girls! This one is special, I rescued her from a pet shop. She had an accident at the store and she ended up losing her foot and part of her leg.

She is doing much better now, 3 weeks after the accident, no sign of infection. She is eating and drinking, pooping fine. I spoke with the pet store and they also figured no one would want to buy her as she was "defective" (not in my mind). So I added her to our family. We are quarantining her right now for the next little while as we just got her yesterday.

I believe she is a Mauve Dilute, but maybe someone else can tell I love typing them so I know.

Welcoming Periwinkle!

Colour: LIGHT LIGHT blue/gray color, and white. Her markings don't seem black at all. I know she is a dilute. Any opinions on her type would be great!

PS Adding a picture of our other two, I know the one is Lutino (typed by you guys here), but I'm not sure of our blue one. Her marking lines are black (on wings, head and tail), but she's tealy blue and white. Any opinions on her type would also be greatly appreciated!

Awww, she's a beautiful girl. I'm glad she's got you to take care of her and she's looking great considering all she's been through.

Congratulations on your latest arrival, Periwinkle is a cutie!
It's great you were able to adopt this special needs budgie.
From the two photos, I'm seeing a uniform deep pinkish colour and this indicates that your little Periwinkle is a boy!
I think he is a cobalt violet greywing budgie.
The colour on the cheek patches and the colour on the barring and markings of feathers don't seem to match for a dilute budgie.

Your budgie girl on the left is a sky blue spangle budgie. Does she has a white patch on the back of the head? If so and her blue feathers cover the entire chest and tummy areas, then she is also a clearflight pied budgie.

Periwinkle is beautiful!
I agree with aluz with regard to his gender being male.

Karma to you for rescuing this this darling little fellow and giving him a safe and loving forever home.

Periwinkle is such a precious boy!

Congratulations on rescuing him, I'm sure he'll be really happy in his new home

Aluz has given great mutation information, I agree completely

Due to his infirmity, as well as to prevent a change in flock dynamics, Periwinkle should be housed separately from the girls even after quarantine so that he's able to have his own space with adjustments for his leg and so the girls don't get moody

Congratulations on rehoming your new boy Periwinkle! He is just beautiful.

The pet store calling him a "defective" must have been hard to stomach.
