Default Male budgie flipping around

My new budgie storm I have owned for a day is trying his darndest to get out and squeeze between bars any of your others try to escape and somersault all around his cage? He also climbs upside down sometimes and wonders about my other two budgies, they see each other and call to each other. Do I get him a swing and what do you recommend?

Swings, perches, ladders, anything like that will be good for him to help settle down some do still like to climb around on the bars, mine has plenty to perch on but she's still quite an acrobat haha

I think your bird may be naturally energetic that way.

My young budgie is the same, forever moving around the cage, hopping from perch to perch, swing, bars, climbing all over, upside down much of the time -- and the back flips...! Do these look as though the legs must be twisting right off? . Mine does these usually in a corner.

Then she will have a session going under the paper carpet to explore underneath, often on her back, heaving the paper up and throwing everything on it into a jumble. That goes on much of the day, interspersed with time out of the cage for free flying & her favourite trick of landing on my glasses and diving behind the lens

So you're budgie seems perfectly normal to me! If he is active the way you describe after only one day with you, sounds like he is going to be a fun and confident bird. Yes, I would certainly get him a swing and arrange perches to enable him to move around freely. Is he being kept in quarantine at the moment, as advised when introducing a new bird to others?
Good luck!

If he's only been with you for a short time, he may still be settling in. All budgies respond differently to a change to their new home, some sit very still without moving and others crawl wildly around, trying to escape. If he seems very nervous, you can cover his cage a little and put him in a quiet place with some music in the background

If he's simply doing this for fun, it sounds like you've got a little circus budgie, for sure! Budgies are very playful little creatures and thus are known for their crazy stunts, both in and out of the cage

hahaha yes, they all do very funny things and each time I see my Cloud does a funny thing, it is so entertaining that I am so glad I brought such a joy into my life by bringing him home My budgie also does flips and hangs upside down and perch to perch most of the time he does this, when he wants to fly outside of the cage and he keeps doing crazy moves in the cage until I let him out of the cage to fly, one time he put his entire body into the food dish (after throwing out all the food on the floor of course and looked me in the eye and went checked if I opened the cage door for him) and I was worried that he was gonna hurt himself.

This is a very smart budgie! He's already trying to open the cage doors! He's a sweetie pie he wants to hang out with thunder I tell him another time. I just added a swing with mirror and bell on bottom, otherwise he would chew the wooden swing up. Do I need to add a mineral block to my budgies? They had some in pet shop. Sky and thunder wanted a swing too but they were a wee bit jealous they didn't get one, but only had 7.00 on me to spend.

I give Cloud cuttle bone and i got one those mineral blocks, but he only eats the cuttle bone (good calcium source), he does not really eat the mineral block. Cuttle bones are 1.50 or something per piece. Yeah be careful if he is opening the cage doors. I had a budgie when I was a kid and she figured out how to open the cage doors and we ended up using twist ties to secure it and she figured that out as well, first opening the twist tie with her beak then the door and one day she flew away from the kitchen door, escaped from the cage....
