I have a couple young budgies that I'm not sure of the gender. My eyes must be going bad, because it seems like the cere of each of them is constantly changing. I believe that the opaline is female, but I read that sometimes the mutation can mess with the cere of a young bird.

Sorry, the mobile site won't let me upload the pictures. I'll have to email them to myself and attach them from my computer

Here are the pictures.

Both very young bird's with tricky cere's. A little more time will help iron it out for sure. If I had to guess I would say to hen's because my boy's never looked that way but in the end...I'm going to go with whatever Aluz say's....

From the photos, your green chick looks like a young female to me.
I'm seeing the white colour in between and around the nostril area and there is some light bluish colour on the edges of the cere.

The blue chick on that last photo which seems to have been taken in natural lighting without interference of artificial lights, I'm seeing what it seems quite a purplish cere underneath the dark pigment.
I'm more inclined to say that this budgie is a young male and once the melanin fades and we are able to better see the cere's true colours, it will be easier to confirm or deny gender.
