Default Vision Birdcage M01 vs M02

Hi all,

Sorry for another thread in this section.

I have read the posts/reviews on various websites and on this forum about these Vision Cages, and it seems like they are getting mixed reviews.

In general, what I have gathered seems to be:

Pros:
-plastic guard contains mess
-modern design

Cons:
-No pull out tray
-Tedious to clean

Does anyone own the Vision M01 and/or M02?

Amazon.com : Vision Bird Cage Model M02 - Medium : Parakeet Cage : Pet Supplies Amazon.com : Vision Bird Cage Model M02 - Medium : Parakeet Cage : Pet Supplies

I was looking at the M01 at first and then realized the M02 model has the exact same length and width dimensions but just different height. If I get the M02, would I be able to convert it to the M01 height size since it seems like the bars are connected via a plastic piece?

Its interesting reading the reviews on this b/c some of the people who gave positive reviews mentioned that its EASIER to clean than the pull out trays since the trays may not catch all the mess like the vision does...totally confusing.

Ahhh so many varieties in cages!!!

I have one of the small versions of the Vision cage.

This is all going to be down to preference.
I did like that the plastic doors open down the bottom to change the food and water containers and that they are shielded with the guards from droppings.
I like that the grate gives the birds less chance of walking on their own mess.
I like that the doors open inwards to give a landing perch, but can be laid flat as well.

I didn't like that bottom design (my bird also took a dive and got out during cleaning). Yes, it contains the mess really well, but it's not ideal for keeping sneaky birds in their cages!
When I put mine together, I didn't like the plastic clips on the side and we ended up securing the sides with different clips.

I now have mine as a hospital cage. They were decent enough for what I needed but it's really about preference here.

Those Hagen Vision cages look nice, but I've never used one personally. I can see the pros and cons though. Funny... the first time I saw one at a store, it's clean modern design caught my eye. I felt like a moron for as long as it took me to figure out how you'd clean the bottom with no pull out tray. ..then I thought, well you must have to lift the top off since there is literally no other way, but no, that just doesn't seem right lol.

I considered a Vision cage and generally I think they're pretty good cages, however I also found it rather annoying to have to lift the whole cage up (although it does have less mess than a pull-out tray, I would imagine).

Also, the cages are built so that even the large one is more horizontal than vertical, so if you have a choice I would go with a cage that's larger in the horizontal direction as it gives birds more flying space
