Hi everyone, I haven't been on TB for a while due to some major life changes, but now that everything has settled down, I thought I'd give you an update on how Mexico and Ice are doing and what they've been up to. First I'll start with the one or two bad things that happened to get them done and over with. As some of you may remember, Ice seemed to be sick at one point. Thankfully, it turned out that (I'm pretty sure) I just wasn't giving them enough sleep. Now they are the ones not giving me enough sleep.
One other bad thing was that, once, during out of cage time, Ice managed to get his foot tangled in the hair of a valuable porcelain doll. (I was dumb enough not to put that way before I let them out) He was literally hanging upside down and I had to put my hand under his back, which he hated apparently since he bit me the entire time. Poor guy was probably terrified! I managed to untangle his foot and he stood up on my hand, looked at me for a couple seconds as if to say; "thanks, but I still don't like you." Then flew back to his cage. Another good reason to always make sure the room they will be flying around in is safe.
Now some good(ish) things. Firstly, Mexico and Ice now like to wake me up bright and early every morning to squawk loudly while I, having just woke up, am still very groggy. The only thing that keeps me from getting at them is their adorable cheerfulness, and well... Okay everything about them. They get this squawking thing from the magpies who live in my neighbourhood. Magpies do not chirp or warble sweetly, they squawk loudly and constantly, so so do my budgies. I recently made them a (safe) foraging toy which they absolutely loved, and now there are paper shreds everywhere.
Thanks a lot boys. Anyway, that's all I can think of right now. Sorry for the long post.
