Hi guys,
I just got 2 new budgies, they won't go in the cage!
I have tried everything, adding treats, lights, making noise with toys, but they just won't go in! I know they are scared but how to I get them to go in their cage?ption 1:

I just brought home my first budgie a few days ago and experienced the same kind of problem. My little guy,Tiki, was stubborn about it and kept hiding in the back corner of the box and refused to come out. What worked for me was just setting the opened box inside the cage(I had the box on its side so it was easier for him to make his exit) and then he successfully left the box behind

I'm a newbie with keeping budgies myself, so perhaps others with more experience will be able to provide more input.

Hello, I agree if they are still in the box simply place the box in the cage and leave it , they will come out when they are ready.
If they are in another cage simply leave them for now.

I agree with the above advice.
If you have let them out of their cage into a room, then you should open the cage door and leave some food in the cage and hope they go back in. If you have new birds its best to let them settle into their surroundings first before letting them out.

Welcome to the forums! You have certainly come to the right place as you will find all you need to know on budgie care here.
If you are relatively new to budgies, the information on the several articles and sticky threads located at the top part of each section of the forums will be extremely useful as you become more familiar with the species.

I hope by now your budgies are safely inside their cages.
You could have also made use of one of the perches from the cage and slowly approaching each of your budgies to see if they would step onto the perch (some budgies can automatically do so).
If so, then you could slowly and carefully lead them into the cage while they remain on the perch.
Another way is to use a very light cloth to catch your budgies.

Given the ordeal on their first day home, it would be best to cover your budgies' cage on 3 sides and having some background noise/music in order to help your budgies in settling in and feeling more comfortable.
The information on this link may be of use: https://talkbudgies.com/new-budgie-ar...rd-scared.html

Also be sure to check the info at the Taming and Bonding section of Talk Budgies.

Best of luck with your new budgie friends!
