Default Bird-on-wheels toy

Please pardon me if this question has been asked before, but I haven't the fortitude to read almost 1,100 pages of topics.

Many years ago my budgies had toys that seem to have disappeared from sale in the US. One in particular that I would love to give my current budgie is a bird-on-wheels (I've also seen it called a penguin-on-wheels). An example is posted below. I've seen the toys in photos on the Internet. However, invariably they're posted by people in the UK, and I live in the US. I've looked at the obvious pet supply sites and have yet to see one for sale in this country, except for used antique ones on Ebay and one absurdly priced at around $35 on Amazon. Considering how popular these toys are in the UK, I find it hard to believe I can't find a reasonably priced one for US customers. Does anyone know a reputable website that sells and ships this toy in the US for a reasonable price? Thanks!

We used to have them for our budgies when I was much younger.

I've looked for them over the last five years in the US and have been unable to find a distributor that sells them at a reasonable price.

Thank you, Karina

What we are actually trying to find is a manufacturer/distributor who sells them new in the United States.

And you may be correct about the one on Ebay being new.

However, it would be nice to know of a manufacturer/distributor who carries them in the US so various people who have been looking for them would know where to go to purchase them.

Oh! They sell them in Vancouver, BC. I used to see them everywhere! It might be cheaper for US folks to find a Canadian dealer for shipping. I know Noah's Pet Ark in Vancouver sells them, but I'm not sure if they do online or mailing. You can also try West Coast Tropical, I know they do online selling. I hope this helps!

I looked at the website for Noah's Pet Ark. No online sales there. As for West Cost Tropical, they DO do Internet sales, but don't seem to do international shipping. Also, I didn't see that particular toy in their catalog.

I LOVE those 'bird on wheels' toys they're so cute! My mom had a black and white penguin one for her grass keets, but it fell apart years ago. I've wanted one since as well. Let us know if you have success finding one in the states!

I will tell you a little warning though... since it fell apart I saw the inside. The part that balances them upright looks like a lead weight. If it is indeed lead it is toxic to birds. Budgies little beaks are not strong enough to crack it open, but even so, best used as a supervised toy.
