Akahayla is on a distinguished road
Default 2 males and a female

I used to have 2 pairs of budgies (Olivia+Rae and Milo+Blue) but last week my female budgie (Olivia) passed away and this week I have noticed that Rae has started feeding Blue. What does this mean? Are Milo and Blue not a couple anymore? I have noticed that Milo and Rae have started fighting too.

It's just that I can't make myself buy another female budgie. I am still trying to adjust to Olivia's death.

Default

Unfortunately, this is something that is to be expected especially when there is a change in the flock numbers, the dynamics will change and this is especially the case when there is an odd number of budgies being housed together and even more so when the male/female ratio is not even.

Given the recent changes and the current circumstances, it would be best to house Rae on a separate cage in order to avoid fightings between your males (to win over the one female) that can escalate and end very badly.
You can focus on giving Rae some extra TLC to help him better cope with Olivia's passing. With continued work, you can even strengthen the bond you have with Rae.

Best of luck with everything!
