Congratulations on your new budgie!

I'm somewhat confused because I thought you were getting a male buddy for your Dobrica...

To answer your question there is not much of a difference in terms of general care, all you have to make sure is to not give your female budgie anything that she can use as a nest, so no nest box, no coconut toys nor any hiding areas should be available in or out of the cage.
Later on, you will have to take the necessary measures to prevent breeding behaviour and unwanted egg laying.
For the detailed information, you can check this link: https://talkbudgies.com/budgie-breedi...want-eggs.html

Be sure to follow quarantine procedures and make the proper introductions after quarantine time is over:

By looking at the picture, I see your budgie's cere is already starting to get the tan colour. I'd say she is at the very least 5 and a half months old.

Your new budgie is very pretty.

However, I'm concerned that you went ahead and got a female budgie after all the advice you were given explaining why it would be best for you to get a male.

Please carefully follow the advice aluz has posted in this thread.

Hi Anna,

You indicated in your post that this little girl was a gift to you from your parents. Did you explain the situation to them?

Depending on their genetic heritage (the overall size of the parents) and on how they were raised on the nest till fledgling, some budgies can be smaller in size when compared to others.
All you need to do is to give your new budgie a good, varied and balanced diet to make sure she has all the right nutrients to keep her healthy.
