At first we thought the girl was a boy so we named her Sherlock - because she was looking so curious and quiet like a detective >D, then we found out she's a girl so we named her ms marple like the woman detective xD
and the boy was mistaken for a girl so we named him "lala" which is a baby in russian, because they were still babies with big black eyes ^^
after we found out he's a boy my dad said let's call him Rocky . dunno why D lol. because maybe he is so energetic p=
This will be a fun thread!
My first budgie,Lasso, was named after a lasso. I used to ride horses and had a dream of owning one before kids and adult responsibilities took over. I wanted to incorporate that dream into my first budgie somehow and Lasso was perfect.
For Yazzi I wanted a cowboys and indians kind of theme. Yazzi comes from the Navajo word yahzi which supposedly means "little." She is a really small budgie compared to all the budgies I have seen in person.
Piccolo was a name I had set aside before I even had him. I was talking to my husband about instruments one day and that one came up and I loved the sound of it. I keep a running names list for people and animals (I used to write and it's a habit) and added that to it.
I used to have cockatiels who were named after Blackadder characters....there was Baldrick, Percy, Melchett, Queenie, Edmund and Bob.
(For those of you who don't know Blackadder was a UK comedy series starring Rowan Atkinson )
Greyjoy was named for my favourite Game of Thrones character, who is actually a terrible person but I love how the name sounds. Toki Wartooth is a member of the fictional band Dethklok from the show Metalocalypse. She earned her name by giving me my first real budgie bite. I had originally wanted two males to name Renly & Loras (again from Game of Thrones) but I'll save those names for future budgies.
Tiffanie, all this time I thought you named Piccolo for a Dragon Ball character hehe
