Default My little budgie Bebito

Hi Talkbudgies friends:
I would like to introduce my little budgie. His name is Bebito. He is an adult. He is a really peaceful little guy. He loves to sing and play with toys. He also likes to moves his head up and down which makes me laugh. He is a gentleman whenever the female is sleeping, he keeps in silence and waits for her to wake up to continue singing.

He is seriously moulting and I'm planning to improve his diet as his feathers are taking a while to grow.

It's great to finally meet your Bebito! Moulting or not, he is a gorgeous boy!

It's good that you are in the process of improving his diet. During this time, it would be good supplement the diet with egg food, as this will promote good feather growth and will also help your budgie to better cope with the moult as it will help to replenish the energy lost when moulting.
You can sprinkle a few seeds over the egg food in order to entice Bebito to try it out.
You can also offer your budgie boy a shallow dish of water just in case he wants to bathe as that will also help in soothing the itch and general discomfort from the moult. If he's not keen on taking baths, you can place a dripping wet lettuce leaf and attach it to the cage's bars. Some budgies like to bathe on dripping wet leaves and they will also eat their greens in the process.

Best of luck with Bebito's diet change!

Dear Aluz:
You are so nice. Thanks for replying.I really like my little Bebito. He is a singer. We enjoy singing together. I wonder if any of my budgies will ever talk. I get amazed when I see a budgie talking.

Good advice ! I will add egg to his diet.He is scratching his head a lot.

He doesn't seem interested in water but I will try wet lettuce leaf to relieve the pain.

Thanks a lot ! God bless you !

Damag, Bebito is beautiful!

What a handsome little guy

It is rather hard to tell his age since he has already reached maturity. His eyes have the full iris and his head feathers have lost the "baby barring" seen on young budgies. I can see from his pin feathers that this is also not his first moult, so he's definitely a year old at least

Well Hello Bebito! What a lovely name for such a handsome little budgie

You are equally as cute as Ibi

Don't forget to offer some other healthy fresh greens like dill or a little bit of spinach, cucumber or zucchini slices along with some fruits like apple slices, pear, cherries...whatever they like or are used to. And, of course, millet is good for a hard or heavy molt to keep the weight on as they tend lose a bit of weight. Not too much, just a little bit. And Avian powder or liquid vitamins for their water to boost their immune system if you have it. It is something you should keep on hand in the cabinet to use every now and then.

All the best Bebito getting through this heavy molt!
