Default Does Your Budgie Have A Designated Sleeping Spot?

Hey guys! I thought it might be interesting to see if some of your budgies have a designated sleeping spot What I mean by this is, do they go to the same spot of the cage every night to sleep? And if so, where? Do they sleep in the same position, too? With all of the different personalities of all of our feathered friends, I thought it might just be entertaining to find out how they all sleep

I'll start with my two. Hermes and Izzy, when they first started sharing a cage, would sleep by each other on a perch, all fluffed up with their heads tucked under a wing and standing on one foot. It was absolutely adorable to find them like that. Now, though, they have "designated sleeping spots" Izzy sleeps in the top right corner, Hermes in the top left. They just hang on the wire and stick their beaks in the corner. It honestly looks like they're both in time-out. It doesn't look very comfortable to me, but to each his own I guess

Generally budgies are a flock orientated bird, this means if you have more than one bird there will be a pecking order or hierarchy. This is totally normal. The usual way it goes is the highest ,safest roosting place goes to the Boss budgie then the others find their place.
I have three budgies, two in one cage and a sole budgie . The two that are together always sleep on the bridge I have hanging from the top of the cage, they do sometimes have a small squabble as to which side but are always next to each other in the morning.
My lone budgie sleeps on his swing always.

All of my current budgies will choose their swings to sleep in for the night.
Luigi and Goldilocks share the same swing, while Leonel and Peppy have his and hers swing strategically positioned side by side on their cage.
Tito Junior and Dinda take turns in sharing their favourite swing and when one is using the swing, the other will choose the top perch located at the right side of the cage.

After making sure to have two of everything in the cage Greyjoy will sleep on one of the round swings as usual, but now Toki sleeps right on top of the same swing. I don't get it, it can't be comfortable but it's wicked cute. But maybe it's like Pretty Boy said and she's the boss now and feels safer sleeping as high as she can get. He doesn't seem to mind and I crack up every morning when I see that they slept like that again.

Piccolo and Yazzi always sleep on the "main" perch in their cage. It's not the highest, but it is as equally high as one other. It's located front and center. It's weird to me that they don't sleep on the one that is the same height but in the back corner.

Elsa I imagine because of her missing toes picks a lower perch to sleep on while Houdini sleeps on his high swing as does Nellow and Primrose roosts on a high branch beside Nellow. Popeye and Olive choose the same perch slso to sleep on each night but as they are in a quarrentine smaller cage yet they dont have a whole lot of choice regarding height but they pick the perch nearest the floor to sleep on probably I imagine because Popeye is clipped...I really wish he wasnt clipped as he would be so much more confident if he was fully flighted and he could then choose the perch near the top too if he so wished to sleep on. however it wont take long for his feathers to moult and get a new fully flighted pair of wings and I am guessing when he does he will move to a higher perch with his Missus Olive to sleep or maybe even one of the swings. yes they all have their special spot that they go to once bedtime comes.

All my birds sleep in the same spot every night. Peewee and Kiwi sleep next to each other on a rope perch at the front of their cage and are practically stuck together every morning when I uncover them. Bebe and Louie are caged together and Bebe sleeps on a high perch at the rear of the cage and Louie sleeps on the same perch about 6 inches to the right of Bebe.
Patty and Perry are together and they each sleep on a swing. Sometimes Perry will try to take Patty's swing but she let's him know that it is her swing and no intruders or company is allowed. Minsky starts the night on a high perch at the rear of the cage but in the morning I frequently find that he has moved to another high perch at the front of his cage. Cody sleeps on a high perch at the front of his cage facing to the right and Georgie sleeps on a high perch in the back of the cage. They all have swings in their cages but Patty and Perry are the only ones that sleep on them. When I had a different flock arrangement , 4 of the birds shared a cage and each night there were swing wars, just when I though they had settled down one would decide he wanted a different swing and would attempt to claim it. My 2 Linnie's sleep up against each other either on their hanging sea grass mat or on a rung on their ladder with their heads hanging down, which looks really uncomfortable.

I have a double flight cage with a removable divider. I used to always put the divider in at bedtime, and Mink and Chip (and Twigs while he was with us) would jump into their same "bed" every night when they saw the cover coming. Their beds were favorite swings.

Now... lately I've been keeping the divider out at night, and to my surprise, Mink and Chip now sleep in different areas (not necessarily the same spot every night). Mink has abandoned her routine of sleeping on a certain swing, and now will sleep in different areas in the vicinity where Chip is. Chip usually sleeps on a certain swing, but not always.

When Mink and Chip first got acquainted, they'd sit touching each other, but lately I never see them do that. Perhaps they've decided to be "just friends" not mates .

With the 3 other birds of different species - 2 sleep in the same place always, where 1 will sleep in either of two favorite places.

Fido and Berty always sleep in the exact same spot, Fido on a rope perch and Berty on a Branch, as close to each other as possible in their respective cages
When I close the curtain, they jump up and go to sleep. If I am late closing the curtain and it get's dark enough, they will let me know by having a real scream fit!
They are also always found in the exact same spot every morning.
