Default Is Jay Craving Attention

Hi all.
not sure about this, Jay is acting strange. when i'm sat next to the cage (to the side of the cage) Jay is stepping onto his landing perch then flying so close to me that his wings are practically touching my head...

i'm holding out my arm so he can land but he just dive bombs me and back into the cage...

From your description it seems that Jay is just being playful and teasing you a bit by flying super close to you.
You can see this as the budgie version of playing the tag game. There is not cause for concern!

All of my budgie boys like to play the dive bombing game.
It's fun for them and I've only been hit a couple of times (one doesn't judge distance as well as the others)
