I ordered a new cage for my new baby bird and I'm pretty sure at least (2) of the (3) doors are guillotine. If not all 3 of them. Hard to tell from online photos.
It was the right size for my available space at the moment. [ I may get an even bigger & better cage some day, but I don't have the space right now ] ... this cage has 8,100 cubic inches for my single bird, but.... those doors.
What are the best clips to secure the doors so that they're safer for my bird?
I've read here and that budgies can try to open guillotine doors (unsuccessfully) and then get caught and bad things will happen.
What sort of clips do I need to purchase for these kinds of doors? I tried the kind attached (pls. see photo) because I had them on hand, but they don't work for the 1/2 inch spaced bars on my temporary cage.
Can you attach a photo? I've read some threads.... but feel like there's a lot of mixed messages.
Thanks so much...! I just really want to make sure my bird is as safe as possible.
[p.s. - found a video online of a bird escaping. Check it out: escape - YouTube
He breaks out at about 1:18 mark.]
