Default Drastic overhaul or gradual introduction?

A couple of you may be aware that recently we introduced Deacon and Rayna in to our home.

We took on a young brother and sister that seem to be very happy. They sing to the radio, they preen all the time, taming is coming along well, all seems good. We have even learned to deal with the odd occasional squabbles.

The other night we got a little carried away on Amazon and bought all sorts of things. My question is, is it best to rebuild the cage with all new perches and toys or introduce them one by one?

Ranya (dominant female) has her spot on the highest part of the highest perch. Would removing this upset the balance in the cage?

I think that with budgies you can do a complete redecorating all at once--just don't do it in the evening when it's birdy bedtime. I have made that mistake. Try to have multiple perches at the highest level.

Perfect job for Saturday morning then

I think that's the main source of our bickering now. There is only one perch up high and good lord is it Rayna's!!

Some budgies do find it stressful when new items are introduced to their cage. Have you introduced anything new to them before now?

If you've never changed up their cage before, I'd be cautious and not change everything at once. Maybe add a new high perch and a toy and see how they do. If they react well to this, then you can do more.
