First time out of the cage!! With me that is haha, I don't know what her previous owners were like and if she was ever allowed out. But I've had her for three weeks now, and everyday I've been slowly taming her and getting her used to me.
Today she was flapping her wings a lot in the cage so I thought today might be a good day to see how she does.
She was perfect. She doesn't fly to me, but she will happily hop on my hand for some millet and seeds.
She did a few laps of my bedroom and eventually I got her back in with no stress at all
So second time isn't quite as successful She's sitting on top of her cage not wanting to go in :/
Genuinely don't know what to do now. She's been out an hour, refusing to hop onto my hand at all. She did it once to eat seed when she came out, and now she's not bothered at all. I'm on the verge of having a mental breakdown because I've had such a stressful day. I don't want to chase her or use blankets, because that will just reverse any trust she does have in me.
But I also haven't a clue what the heck to do now because I'm so mentally exhausted -_-
Update: she's in. It took covering the top of the cage with fabric for her to fly into the cage instead of onto it. I'm off for a nap now, no scary tactics needed in the end!
