Question If I get another hand tame budgie and house it separately...

I have a hand tame budgie that I got in Feb this year. At first, he'd just sit on your finger and not do anything. Now he really opened up but chose my mom as his person. He fly's to her and gives her kisses all the time. He wants nothing to do with me. I take him out for hours each day and he just sits and never interacts with me. However, put him on my mom and he starts kissing her fingers right away.

What If I get another hand tame budgie, but this time, I only spend time with them so they bond with me?

Will my old bird, however, yearn to be with this new bird and not my mom? Will this new bird even be interested in me to bond if there's another bird in my home? I miss have a birdie friend..

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure eventually, your budgie friend will open up to you and interact with you as much as with your mum!
Hm, another way for you to bond with your budgie a and build a stronger relationship with them could be you changing their food and water bowls, and maybe they'll notice you as someone that gives them food and no harm. You can talk to them several times a day for a few minutes and/or read a book to them for at least 15 minutes a day. When you takethem out, maybe have some toys out and make them interested. You could also try and feed them millet whilst training/taming them to be comfortable with you more as well as your hand.

Budgies are very social beings and more often than not, they will prefer to bond more closely with a same species friend, putting us in second place.
This is something natural which is to be expected when bringing home a second budgie.

I don't see how you can't build a friendship with your current budgie.
Just because he prefers your mother, this doesn't mean he is unable to form a good bond with you and if you have the right frame of mind, it's possible for you to make a real connection with your budgie.
By knowing your budgie's preferences, you can try to win him over whether by engaging with him in a playful activity or just by talking to him and spending time together and offering a favourite treat.
