Feels like forever since I've been on here but thought I'd drop by to introduce my new baby boy-bird, Severus. Why the name Severus you ask? He packs one MEAN bite. Milo and Ivy have never bitten me so hard as to draw blood. Milo just doesn't bite
I figure (am hoping) hes just very afraid and very new and that this is just a phase. I haven't tried to really hand tame him yet seeing as I just got him a few days ago. But boy was he an absolute terror to capture and box!
I've got to say though, I have a great feeling about him. Hes so inquisitive! He's constantly cocking his head to the side as he watches me. He also does this really cute thing where he fluffs his little cheek feathers and makes these cute little baby bird squeaks at me when I'm sitting next to his cage.
I'd love to take more pictures and pose the little guy with some cute props but it'll have to be in a few weeks or so. He has had me SO anxious these past few days. I just try to give him his space. Bought him a bunch of toys off Amazon and am HOPING they come by Tuesday. Felt that that was a little long of a wait though so I went out and got him a disco ball bell toy today.
I know its common for new budgie babies to not want to eat when you first bring them home however, it still has me on edge. ( I got baby Sev Friday evening and he didn't eat once until late this evening.)You know, Ivy wasn't like that at all. It was like she was happy to come home with me and be out of that bin of budgies. She ate from my hand the same day I brought her home and always had an appetite. I recall Milo being difficult at first to in regards to eating. Ivy must be the exception to the rule.
Here is a recent photo of my lovely couple: Milo and Ivy
