Default manzanita driftwood

Hi all,

So I went to my petstore called Big Al's they specialized in aquarium, bird and reptiles and they had those amazing manzanita driftwood stand that you can use in aquarium, reptile cage and was wondering if this would be ok for bird perch? When I asked the staff in charge of the birds there they said that those perch would be ok for bird but I hear so many things about driftwood it kind of scare me ..any suggestions?
Kind of look like these:

Manzinita is a safe wood for budgies.
However, what you are considering is driftwood - which means it was floating about in the sea.
To be safe, I would make sure to clean and disinfect it before using it for a budgie.
You can clean it using plain white vinegar and letting it air dry.
You can then "bake" it in a 250 degree oven for about 1/2 hour.
