Default Penn Plax Play Gym - X-Large?

(I dont know which category this thread, I was trying to find it but could't find it so I'll just post it here. Sorry)

So because the pet stores nearby me ran out of bird play gyms, I've been trying to find some fun gyms online for my budgies and I found this one.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...qh_dp_hza?th=1

I was wondering which would be best for two budgies to play on and have fun.
I was thinking of getting the extra large one but I heard it is way too big for budgies. Would it still work though or are the perches and toys just way too big for budgies' feet?
Any opinions on it?

Hi there,

I have moved your thread to the Budgie Product Reviews.

From the photo on the link, the play gym doesn't look that big and the perches/toys don't seem oversized for a budgie.
Hopefully someone who has this specific product will be able to better assist you, since pictures can be misleading at times.

I'm pretty sure that the differences in sizes have to do with the number of components rather than the size of the components. I think I read that on the manufacturers website when I was looking at them.

Questions have been raised about the safety of the bell, so you might want to remove it! I think it was a concern over what type of metal it is made from.

Yes I was originally thinking of removing the bell and then replacing it with one of the bells I have here in the bird cage.

I also want to ask whether any weight scales could be used to weigh birds?
I would like to have a scale at home so I could just weigh my birds whenever and so I could see whether they are eating too little or too much.
Do you think this would be okay?
https://www.amazon.com/HDE-Compact-M...n+digit+scales
I'm trying to find some cheap ones as I have a budget when online. ^^;;

Default Penn Plax Play Gym - X-Large?

Hi ..I bought this one "small"
and I think it's just that the bottom box is much larger and wider and the swing is lower on the extra large for bigger birds then the one I had with mine... I saw a video of someone that had the large one and the bottom was already much bigger then mine so extra large will have lots of space I'm sure ...I did add stuff on it and removed the swing since he wasn't going on it... I do not think the perch will be much bigger it just look like the ladder compare to mine and this is one is wider between the steps.. I would buy the extra large... You can add stuff and removed some anyway add toys your bird like on it

There are many different variations of playgyms so make sure to check around before making your decision.

If you choose to keep the rope on the playgym, make sure you check it frequently to ensure the budgies are not chewing it.
Remember that ingestion of the fibers can lead to crop impaction.

FaeryBee is right I made sure to cut the end of the rope of mine as It was too long.. Good luck and hope that you find the playpen that will fit your little feather one
