Default Female budgie sleeping on her stomach

Hello,

It has been a week since my female budgie started sleeping on her stomach like on the pictures below.

Inside the cage she sleeps as normal budgies do, but when she is on top of the cage she is laying down on her stomach.

She eats well and plays with Blu as they always did.

Is this something to be concerned? Or, as I read somewhere she may be on her mating mood?

Kiwi is around 15months old.

Welcome back to the forums!

If your budgie only chooses the top of the cage to lay and rest for a little while in that fashion, then I don't see a problem.
When females get broody, they will usually chose a cozy corner inside the cage or a hiding area to nest, some can even use food bowls that don't have a top on.
This is why it's not advisable to have dark hiding areas on the cage (like coconuts huts, birdie tents, etc).
Since you have a pair, you can check this link for detailed information: https://talkbudgies.com/budgie-breedi...want-eggs.html

One of my lovebirds will also on occasion lay just like your female, but instead he chooses the laptop keyboard to rest for a bit.

For me, cage is perfect. Except for the perches. One of the perches got broken only by budgies jumping on it.

It is very roomy, Ive got L01 model.
Food bowls and access to them are great.
Debris protection is a must if you wanna use it inside. My budgies like to exercise flying inside this cage.

Recommend.
Just dont forget additional perches.

Hi I think your budgie laying as she is fine also, I have a male budgie that will sleep like that especially when he is laying on me or next to his favourite toy on the floor.
