Default Young budgie Yoko: colour mutation and sex

Hello everyone,

I am very happy to introduce you our new budgie family member Yoko! It is a very sweet little budgie which I couldn't forget once I saw it. I am not sure of the sex as the budgie is just around 6 weeks old. It seems for me, that it might be a girl. Can someone help with the colour mutation?

Birdie is happy and currently exploring her new separate from Umi and Teebo cage.

I do not have images of the bird from today, but the one you see bellow I got from the breeder.

Thank you very much!

She's beautiful! From those pictures, it certainly looks like a female.

Her mutation looks like a Sky Blue, Yellowface, Opaline, Cinnamon.

Congratulations on your latest arrival!
From the second photo which was taken under better lighting, it does seem that you have a little budgie girl.
She's a single factor golden face sky blue opaline budgie.

Hopefully by now she is fully weaned, it would be good for you to pay close attention to see if she is eating well or not. Very young and newly weaned budgies can regress their progress when going to their new homes.

I will be waiting for updated pictures of your new little sweetheart.

PoukieBear, thank you so much for your comment! I had same combination of mutations in my mind when i first saw her, she is gorgeous! In reality colours seem a bit darker though, the body colour looks like a mix of skyblue and mint green, she definitely has brown marking on her wings. Hopefully tomorrow or some days later I can make better images of this little precious!

Thanks aluz for such a pro mutation definition and suggestions!
She is very young indeed, I spoke to the breeder about it as well. Today I haven't seen her eating a lot, but she definitelly tried some seeds I put on the bottom of the cage for her. I will definitely going to have a close attention to her.

More pictures soon!

You can place some egg food for her to eat too, this is a highly nutritious supplement important for growing chicks as well as recently weaned budgies.

Best of luck with baby Yoko!

aluz, thank you so much! Eggfood mix is in one of the feeders! Mixture of pellets with seeds in another. Fresh veggies/carrot green twice a day for all our budgies awaiting her too. She is in a good hands I believe!
