Default Budgie's odd little habit

I have two sweet little budgies, Sunshine and BlueBell, they're both young and get along quite well even though they do bicker a little bit, particularly over food, but other than that they seem to get along just fine.

However, there is one behaviour that baffles me, BlueBell likes to curiously put Sunshine's feathers in his mouth, particularly her tail or wing feathers when she's bent down and they're in his face.
I've never seen him do it hard or out of aggression, but it almost seems as though he wants to preen her feathers but Sunshine usually just walks away as soon as he starts.

I don't know if it's because he's bored, likes her feathers, wants to play or wants to bond with her.
I've found it to be quite an adorable and hilarious little habit of his although i do keep an eye out just in case they get into a squabble.

Has anyone else seen this kind of behaviour in their budgies?

If the feathers are in his face, then maybe BlueBell is simply trying to get them out by using his beak in an attempt to get the feathers off the face/eyes.
Young budgies will often exhibit their playful behaviour by grabbing the ends of a main tail feather with either their foot or with their beaks.
They can also do the same by reaching out to a primary flight feather, but it's most common for them to reach the tail area.
In most cases this isn't related to an aggressive attitude and the budgies will soon outgrow this behaviour.

Hello! My Lily does this all the time to Lyla. We always say that she wants Lyla's blue tail for herself! It's never aggressive, but it's always pretty funny!

So Bluebell must be the yellow one, yes? Haha, j/k. They are gorgeous birds, and they look quite happy! I love the 3rd and 4th pictures the best.

Haha, Thank you They're both such sweeties, Bluebell is by far the more gentle one out of the two, whilst Sunshine has the more dominant personality and is less scared than BlueBell although it took her longer to get used to her new environment. (She's also a sweetie pie). They're too cute for words, i'm still working on gaining their trust slowly and getting them comfortable around me. Baby steps

No I do not think I have seen that sort of behavior with my budgies although I am not as familiar with them as you would think.
