Default Separating birds

I had to separate Fluff and Tweet. They've been fighting quite a bit lately and it had been getting worse and worse. I didn't want to let it get any worse. Although they would still be lovey dovey and preen each other later.

Am I going to be able to put them back together ever? Or should I just let them have their own cage now. I do have their cages nearby each other, so they can see each other. If need be, I can move one of them, but Tweet seemed super sad.

As the fighting was escalating, I would keep them apart.

You can try giving them so supervised out of cage time and see how they get on together out of their cage but continue to let them have their own alone time as well. If fighting happens when they are out together as well, it will be best to continue keeping them in their own cages.
Once they get used to the new changes, they will settle down again.

You did well in separating your budgies before one of them got injured.
Even though Tweet seems sad, with time he will adjust to the change and later on may even like to have the cage all for himself.
If the fightings were constant then it would be best to keep this arrangement and having them housed on different cages permanently.
Once they are calmer and more settled, you can let them have supervised out of cage time together and see how they behave and interact with each other.
Depending on how they go, you can continue to let share their out of cage time or not.

Good luck!

Therm and aluz have offered you excellent advice.
Thank you for paying close attention to Fluff and Tweet and for separating them before one of them was badly hurt.
