Unhappy Haunched Over Budgie

Hello everyone~ I've been a little worried these past few days because Peri sits haunched over almost the whole time I'm with her. I got about a week ago and I just want to know if this is normal behavior for scared budgies meeting their new environment or if this is a depressed looking budgie... If there is a post or sticky already explaining this, I'm sorry I must have overlooked it and it be great if I got a link to it(I'm still getting use to navigating this site). Here is a picture of my budgie. The cage is very small, but that's all I could afford at the moment I got her I'm saving up to buy her a bigger one and new, different perches... Thank you all again!!

(In the picture when I got close to her, she straightened a little but before she would haunch down so low, her beak would actually touch the perch!)

I'm unable to see the photo.
Some budgies when resting or when more in a relaxed state will not have a straightened out posture and this doesn't mean that there's something wrong with them.
Besides paying attention to the bird's posture when perching, it's also important to observe the budgie's general behaviour/activity.
If the budgie is eating/drinking well, is in overall good spirits and the energy levels are normal, then all should be well.

Given the fact your budgie is new and you are still in the process of getting to know her and you suspect that besides the haunched position there are other factors that make you believe she is somewhat off or in pain, then having her seen by an avian vet specialist would be the best thing to do and will hopefully put your mind at ease.

My two new budgies both sit hunched over like that... the turquoise one seems to be watching things closely when he's like that too with eyes wide open ... my newest and youngest white budgie sometimes sits hunched over too especially if she's resting and not sleeping. I think they are more likely to sleep on one foot when they get older and more accustom to their new home.

Thank so much Aluz and Barbara~ Aluz, you were right about observing her other activities, she's eating and drinking fine and is chirping so much now, I guess it's usually early in the morning or in the afternoon that she is like this. Thank you again, I feel much more relaxed now
