Default Getting a 3rd budgie?

Hello I have recently joined the forums and bird keeping as well, funny story on how I got them but anyway on with the question. So i have 2 budgies together and I would like a 3rd as the two are for my siblings. I would like to have a 3rd budgie in the house for myself as for training and gaining it's trust. Well I have school so I won't be able to see my personal budgie for 8 hours so would it be fine as I leave him by the other 2 budgies while i'm gone? I know on the quarantine and such on not giving my other two budgies and illnesses. I seen on the forum on the cons of having 2 female to one male and 2 male to one female.Could I play my budgie a video of other budgies chirping?

Andy,

Are you asking about about keeping the third budgie in a separate cage near the other two budgies once quarantine is over?

If so, are you planning to give them out of cage time together?

Is there a different area of the house where the third budgie could be kept?

You mention you will be at school 8 hours a day.
How much time each day will you actually be able to spend interacting with the bird?

I'm saying of keeping the 3rd budgie near the other two. My two budgies aren't tamed fully yet they are used to me but not willing to perch on my finger. I have space in another part of the house. I can spend 4-5 hours with the budgie.

Initially, even after quarantine, I would keep the third budgie in a different part of the house.
Having it away from the other budgies will encourage it to bond more closely with you.
Be sure to play music or the TV for it when you are not at home.

If, after a few months, you want to move its cage in close to the other two budgies you can do so.
The dynamics of the interactions may change if/when you beginning letting them all have out of cage time together.

Something for the budgie not to get so lonely by himself. Would playing budgie chirping not be a good option then since I want my budgie to bond with me?

It would be better to play music or the TV rather than budgie sounds.

One last question what characteristics should I look for in a budgie when I go and buy him/her?
