Default Same Question, Different Budgie

Dear Budgie People,

It has been two and a half months since we adopted our first budgie Kikker thinking she was a he, and finding out she's a she with your help

Today we have a second budgie in the house! Say hello to Huckleberry Finn!

Well, obviously we have a strong sense that Huck is a boy, hence the name. But we still cannot trust our judgement after the last incident. He's very young so it's harder to tell. But he is as wild-type as wild-types get, and that makes things easier.

Can you help us make sure that we have a boy?

(Do let me know if the image quality isn't good enough. If that's the case, I will take better photos once Huck is a bit more comfortable in his new home.)

In order to confirm gender it would be more helpful to take pictures in natural lighting, since the lighting on these is too dark and there seems to also be some artificial lighting in the room.

From the second link which is the one taken in better lighting, I'm seeing a uniform pinkish colour on the cere. If that is what you see for real, then little Huck is a boy.

Thanks for your response Aluz! I will try to take a photo with natural light tomorrow. Good light doesn't present itself every day in the gloomy Netherlands

Thank you Starling Wings!

Here are two more photos of Huck with natural light. Huck is camera shy so this is the best I can get today without making him feel unsafe in his new home.

While we are here, does anyone have an idea about Huck's age? He/She still has a bit of dark pigmentation on the beak. About 8 weeks?

These latest photos do confirm that Huck is a boy.
As for his age, I notice he has already moulted a good portion of the barring on the forehead area, I'd say he is 3 and half months old.
