Default My budgie is sleeping on the side of the cage

My budgie, Pie is sleeping at the top corner of the cage with his beak and his feet attached to the bars. I haven't seen him do this before and I just want to know if this is normal behaviour or if I should be worried?

That is considered normal and even though it may seem an uncomfortable position for us, to them it's not.
I also have a budgie who likes to nap on the cage's bars only he does not choose a corner, he prefers a spot above the cage's big door.
You can strategically place a perch near that spot in hopes your budgie will choose it to sleep for the night.
A swing is also a good option and most budgies will also go for them to sleep for the night.

Two of my budgies sometimes like to sleep like that even though they have enough swings and perches. I always thought it's uncomfortable but if it works for them...

Budgies sleep in many different places and positions.
Providing various diameters of perches strategically placed in the cage as well as good quality swings will give him options.

Do you cover your budgie's cage (top, three sides and 1/3 of the way down the front) and provide a night light for him to help prevent night frights?

Please take a look at the information in the link below and replace the dowel rod perches in your budgie's cage with natural wood perches of varying diameters to help prevent pressure sores.
