Default Budgie Safe Space Heaters - Lasko is unsafe.

*Update* --

I wrote to Lasko again seeking further clarification, and they referred me to the FAQ on their website. It is affirmative that they take a blanket position that none of their heating products should be used around birds:
24. Does my Lasko heater have Teflon? Can I use it around my birds?
We understand that birds are more sensitive than other animals and to our knowledge, Teflon is not found in our products. However, there could be other compounds found in the product that could potentially be harmful to birds. Therefore, we do not recommend the use of our products around birds.

FAQs ? Lasko Fans & Heaters ? Answers to Your Questions | Lasko Products, Inc.

As the temperature drops and the first snow has fallen. . . I was considering bringing out my space heater for some extra warmth.

I have a Lasko ceramic tower space heater:

30" Space-Saving Ceramic Pedestal Heater | Lasko Products, Inc.

Here is my correspondence with Lasko, and how little they know about their own products:

Thank you for taking the time to contact Lasko Customer Service. We understand that birds are more sensitive than other animals and to our knowledge, Teflon is not found in our products. However, there may be other compounds found in the product that could potentially be harmful to birds. Therefore, we do not recommend the use of our products around birds. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at 1-800-233-0268. We are available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm Eastern.

To Lasko:

Hello, I have this space heater: 30" Space-Saving Ceramic Pedestal Heater | Lasko Products, Inc.

I own a pet parakeet and I need to find out if there is any teflon, non-stick, or Teflon/PTFE coated surfaces in this heater? Teflon/PTFE coated surfaces will kill birds almost instantly so I need to know if there are any of these harmful parts in this product.

Thanks.

I heard from Vornado brand space heaters and they said their heaters do not contain any teflon. It is a fan however, & pretty much with any heater, I'm sure you want it to be 100 percent off and cooled down if the budgies are out of their cage. Curious if anyone has used this brand in their home with budgies?

No, but I contacted them as well and were assured that they were 100% bird safe

They have no teflon, PFTEs, or PFOAs in their heaters.

Same with Comfort Zone and Pelonis. Those are the brand of space heaters we have. We use them with our birds.
