Default Taking a ride.... and an update

So, we've had our feather babies about 4 months now, and they're doing great. Both will play with us outside the cage, eat from our hands. They're eating sprouted seed and green leaf lettuce mostly. Still want nothing to do with fruit. Pasta is an occasional treat, they mostly play with it. We are headed on a long trip soon 18 hrs total drive time. I'm just wondering about covering them during the trip. Is this necessary? They've been on little trips with me before without being covered, and sing away with the radio. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Welcome back to the forums!

Given the fact you will be going on a long trip and it's Winter time, it would be best to cover the cage to keep your budgies extra warm and comfortable.
The detailed information on this link should be helpful: https://talkbudgies.com/general-budgi...traveling.html

Have a safe trip and Merry Christmas.

When I travel with my birds, I cover the cages securely to and from the car and at any time when I get out of the car for gas, etc.

Otherwise, when I know the car is warm and there are no cold drafts, I keep the front of the cage open so my birds can look around and enjoy themselves.

Enjoy your trip!
