Default Paper Party

Since Mallorn was such a good girl this year, Santa Birdie decided to give her a special new toy for Christmas!

She received the Paper Party shredder perch toy, which is by Super Bird Creations. I was able to find it at Petco (and in her favourite colour, pink!). So far, she loves it! She warmed up to it instantly and has spent the greater part of yesterday and this morning chewing the sturdy pine block and investigating the tightly bound paper straws that stick out from it.

It's totally budgie safe, and a nice size for either budgies or tiels. For some reason on the Petco site it says it's best for amazon parrots and greys, but I think they're much too big. Mallorn can perch on the flat block as well as chew her little heart out. She's been really into that lately.

Anyway, here it is!

I've been looking for a good shredder toy! How much did this one cost?

That looks fun, something a bit different from the usual toys. Mallorn must have been on the 'good' list!

Looks like Santa Birdie knew exactly what Mallorn wanted for Christmas!
I'm glad the princess is having so much fun with her special shredding toy!

Hi.. What a nice Santa gift for little Mallorn. My lovebird adores this one! Haven't tried one with the budgies, but it does seem like a safe and fun choice.

What a great choice Santa made with that toy for Mallorn.
And to think, he even managed to find it in her favorite color!

If you get a chance to catch Mallorn playing with her new toy, I'd love to see it.

Oooh, Santa Birdie left one for us as well! I put it on the outside of one of the cages and so far only Poppy has been playing with it. The budgies have been very occupied recently working on something (slightly) similar in Simon's cage (it has wooden blocks on it). Poppy has not become obsessive about the new toy, so the budgies should still get a go at it before the paper part is totally destroyed. Ours has a yellow base.

It was originally around $7, I believe, but I got it at a bit of a discount for Christmas

If you do try it with the budgies, let me know how they like it!

I was delighted they had it in pink! She definitely warmed up to it much faster than she would have if it were in a different colour. I'll try to take some photos on the sly of her with her new toy

Leah, that's great! Santa Birdie clearly has good taste I hope the budgies get some fun from it too

I like that toy . I've seen those in a variety of different sizes. I bought one for someone years ago, and they didn't take to it, so I never tried again. I think it was Robin. I should try one with him (or my other birds) again.

Funny, Mallorn's favorite color is pink and not because you liked the pink one best

Julie,

It's worth a try with one of your other birds!

And yep, she likes pink things the best. I've tested her on this multiple times, too, and she always picks the pink things! She's not nearly as scared of pink objects as other colours, or--god forbid--red!
