Default Budgie trying to play with the rabbit

I have a senior rabbit that shares the room with my budgie Echo, it's the only room safe for her because of how much she struggles with mobility and it's the only room that's been budgie proofed. Echo has started to show more interest in the rabbit, he's trying to join in her antics, landing on the floor, getting annoyed when he can't see her, talking to her, landing on her cage, once inside the cage according to my mum (so I'm more careful about that) and has recently tried saying hello.

Should I be worried about his behaviour?

I know that the rabbit wouldn't harm the budgie, she's really docile toward other animals and has never shown any aggression toward Echo at all. If anything she likes the attention.

For your Echo's overall safety and welfare, it's best to not encourage that type of close interaction with Flopsy. Even despite the fact that you have an elderly rabbit who has never show aggression, your budgie can still be harmed if Flopsy happens to move around a bit.
There is the chance for Echo to the stepped or inadvertently crushed by Flopsy. If he gets too annoying, your rabbit can also harm Echo as a way to protect herself. Animals can be unpredictable and even for a pet who has always been docile there is always the risk of snapping one time and for things to end badly.

Thank you.
I'll budgie proof my bedroom and make a play area for him to spend out of cage time on, I don't want the risk. For now I'll keep Echo off the floor and the rabbit cage partly covered when he's out.

That sounds like a great plan and you're very welcome!
