Cleaning fresh wood
In my garden I have a twisted hazel bush. I planted it over 10 years ago, it has never had any chemicals sprayed on it and looks very healthy.

I know that hazel is listed as a safe wood & I'd like to attach branches of it to the top of the budgies cage and to their travel cage to make play areas to fly between.

I've cut a couple of branches, scrubbed them in the bath with a bleach solution, thoroughly rinsed and dried them. The size I want to use is too big to fit in the oven and due to the twisted shape, removing the bark would be a difficult process.

Considering their known history & scrubbing with a bleach solution, do you think they'll now be reasonably safe to use? :dunno:

They will be perfectly fine to use as I'm sure you rinsed all the bleach residue off carefully.

We'd love to see a picture of the play area once you have it completed! :)
