Hi Veronica to Talk Budgies!

You really have a little cutie there . It's not the clearest pic, but looks like a girl. Do you have any names in mind? I noticed a bell toy in the cage that's rusty. Better to remove or replace it. Rust can potentially be toxic to budgies.

Hi there, it's all good I got rid of that bell some time ago that photo was taken a few hours after we got him or her, we have been calling our budgie Master Cliffy as we think it might be a male but if might have to wait and see how Cliffy develops we did have a female budgie a couple of years ago just been trying to compare them both ?

Hi! to Talk Budgies

Your little one is very sweet. As mentioned, a better picture would be helpful to accurately determine the gender.

Please take the time to read through the Site Guidelines, all of the How To Guides, the FAQs, the Budgie Articles and the stickies located at the top of each section of the forum.

For gender and/or mutation help - Lighting and Angle DOES matter

By the way, all photos entered in any of our forum contests must be a full-size photo and not a thumbnail attachment so it's good to know how to upload them!

Welcome to the forums! You have certainly come to the right place as you will find all you need to know on budgie care here.

From the photo you have attached, it does seem that Master Cliffy is a young female. I'm seeing a faintly bluish colour mingled with white cere.
I don't think your budgie has finished her moult, in fact she may not have started it yet. Her forehead area is still heavily barred and she still has her baby throat spots, she's an opaline budgie and her markings on the head aren't as defined. I'd say she is fresh from turning 3 months old.
Best of luck with your new little friend!

Hi there and to Talk Budgies!

Your little girl is precious! Although better photos would help to confirm her gender, I do agree that she is almost certainly female.

Congratulations on your new addition! I look forward to hearing more about her

Meanwhile, be sure to read through the forums, starting with the links provided above. You'll find lots of great information that will help you stay updated on the best of budgie care practices!

If you have any questions afterwards, please be sure to ask as we'd love to help

Hope to see you around!

She still looks very much like a beautiful young female to me.
The photo you posted before, she was younger. In this updated photo I can see she is finishing her moult.
