Bubbles has started doing some new things we think are hilarious. The funniest thing he does seems to be an invitation to play. If he's sitting on Alex's shoulder, and Alex is reading, playing a game, or watching tv, he's usually quite content for a while. But once he's bored, he will grip Alex's shirt with his little pink feet and start furiously flapping his wings. This is Alex's cue to pretend that the budgie is pulling him by the shoulder to a standing position. Once he's fully standing, Bubbles flies off his shoulder to whatever toy he wants to play with- he has a toy car Alex made him that he likes to be pushed on, or little jingle balls they throw. It's like he's saying, "Get up, Alex! Play with me!" Who can resist that?
He's done this for three days now! Do you think he knows what he's doing? Surely he knows he's not pulling Alex off the couch! Those two crack me up
Yes- I think Bubbles has Alex's number too. Right now, Alex is doing chores. The bird is riding on his shoulder, and he's trying to teach him to say, "I'm a rubber baby Bubble budgie!" Bubbles is sticking with his favorite thing to say: Itchie gitchie goo goo budgie". Never a dull moment.
