Default Young budgie

Anyone have an idea the sex of my new budgie. I don't know their age but they are quite young.

You have a gorgeous male budgie there! Looking at him, I'd say he is 5 and a half months old, he already has his clear cap of feathers and the cere is in the process of maturing.

Best of luck with your new little friend!

Awesome! Thank you once his quarantine is over, I think he'll get along well with my other budgie, I've been told they are male, here's a pic (they are about 4 and a half)

The recessive pied is lovely, too. I'm happy he'll have a companion.

This budgie is a male too and due to his colour mutation, the cere will keep the immature pinkish/purplish colour throughout his life.

For overall health reasons and in order to prevent a potential accident from happening, it's best to cut the fringes off the rope toy.
If the whole rope is showing signs of wear and tear, then replacing it for a new toy/perch would be best: https://talkbudgies.com/articles-budg...eled-toys.html

Oh, I didn't know about the rope, they never chewed on it so I didn't put much thought into it.I'll replace it ASAP, thank you. And thank you for the confirmation. Good to know I don't have to worry about breeding.

You've received excellent advice from aluz.

I'm sure Charlie and Lapis will become best budgie buddy boys once quarantine is over!!

You can start an "Ongoing Thread" in the Budgie Pictures of the forum if you'd like in order to share picture updates of the two of them on a regular basis.

Best wishes!
