So i have a bit more free time before my next midterm. I want to grt lapis and charlie tamed. Lapis is less jumpy than charlie, he won't fly away even if I'm almost touching him. Charlie on the other hand flies away if i open his cage door.im doing well with lapis probably because he's young. Charlie is proving to be more difficult, he's a sweet boy he's just unsure about hands. Any tips?

The best tip is to take things slow, to work on making real connection with your budgies by spending daily quality time with them by at first sitting close to their cage, talking to them in a calm, positive, encouraging and reassuring way and to take little steps in training by looking at the cues they give you by watching their behaviour and body language. This is something that should be done in a consistent way.
You will find all the detailed information and tips on this subject by checking the stickies at the top of the Taming and Bonding sections main page.

Best of luck!

Thanks, charlie is always right beside me, his cage is by my desk. I talk to Him and sing to him alot. He is fine with me outside his cage, he even asks for kisses at night. I've done practice with both of them to work on trust. Lapis is perfectly chill with me, he's calm with me in the cage. Charlie will eventually come down and sing or eat when I'm in his cage. It's working on touching, like getting them to eat out of my hand or step up
