You gave your bird the best chances and it was a success story, long live Baaji and have a happy life!
Actually i was one of them. i gave up on MaeNee who flew away in Feb. She flew away while i went to work, it was too late to find her disappear when i got back home at nite. i hv to admit that i m favourtism over Baaji. so guilty towards Maenee.

Thanks Roland, yes it was disasterous. I was thinking to call you that moment but i hv some problem to locate your number in my full inbox.

For all of us an important lesson/reminder of how very quickly a bird can get out. No matter how tame a budgie seems it is part of his nature to fly and to fly quickly. I've read about how they live in the wild - when startled they fly and are extremely fast and agile. We have to remember that - and have screens on the windows or never have an open window when a budgie is out of its cage. And no one ever open a door to the outside when a budgie is out of cage. During the time I've been coming on this forum so many many people have lost their dear birds and very few ever get them back.
I'm so glad Baaji made it home!
Dear Maple, Yes, we hv decided to install insect screen. even though our birds may not have the intention to leave us, but accident may happen. so we better do something than sorry.

Cheers to Baaji's return!
Dear Kim, Thanks for your consoling me over the night and shared my emotions through out the event. i know you were so excited when i told you i had got him back.

Yes Nyc, the old lady were very nice. we bought some cookies for them as well to thank the family. Baaji really like being scratched. During his free flight time, sometime he will come n nudge on my fingers to hint me.

Default What really happened to Baaji in the Singapore night

Connie has wondered just how Baaji spent his night out in Singapore - here's what I pictured, (given the first photo Connie posted of Baaji...)

YouTube - ‪Baaji's Night Out‬‏

And don't worry anymore about MaeNee - she's safe, too, in the mighty hands of God.

This story made me so sad...I can't imagine how heartbreaking it must be to have your bird fly right out the window like that! What a stroke of amazing luck that some people were able to find him. I'm so happy he's safe again.

I took this emotional roller coaster ride; my gosh what a story!I felt the panic and adrenaline rush at the part of the story where Baaji got away. I couldn't stop reading(the many twists and turns of the story). Finally, the joy of finding your Baaji. I am so happy for you that you and your beloved Baaji were reunited after his big night out.

SPBudgie's YouTube of "Baaji's Nite Out" is so creative and extremely funny! I really enjoyed it.

I just love the happy end!!!

This happened two me TWICE in my life, and both times I got my budgie back. That's why I also advise people never to give up when a bird flies out the window. Put flyers up, put ads in the paper, phone shelters, vets, do anything. Because once your bird is found, the person who found it has to know who lost it.

Oh yes, both my birds now were found outside. I wonder if their former owners are wondering what happened to their birds? If only there was a way to let them know their birds are happy and healthy.

Sigrid

you know Monet, some ppl i that i told about this suggested perhaps Baaji flew into the Aunty's house at night and she might hv the intention to keep but after seeing me so upset, she returned to me with a nice story. nobody will know the truth, but i rather believe that his return is not easy and i will not take him for granted.

But it is truth that Baaji didnt wish to get down from our shoulder when we tried to take him out at home on that day.

you know Sigrid, I lost Maenee from the window also. she has left when i got home from work. I didnt do much in searching as i didnt have the faith.

for Baaji is different, i was dying to find him out even to take leave from work and door to door knock every unit in the house.

Is like a butterfly effect. a small things cause another...the other cause another n hv the result....

Oo.... i understand how much u wish to tell ur 2 babies ex-owner. i always thinking to tell Baaji's breeder about how he is now but we never got the contact number. he was sold to us by the petshop as the middle man. my hubby only saw the breeder for that moment of transaction.
