Default New cage coming

My two angels have been in a small cage 15 1/4 x 15 1/4 x 22 so I finally ordered a big cage for them. It's 32 x20 x36 so they will have more room. I cannot let them out of the cage because I have too many animals in the house so I thought a bigger cage would be good for them. I love these little guys they brighten up the day with their singing and chattering. They seem to love the noise made by the tv. They especially like Sesame Street and Sponge Bob. When they chatter and sing I hope that means they are happy. They, however, are terrified when I put my hand into the cage to change their food and water. No matter how slowly or how softly I speak to them. I know they were mistreated by their former owner. Poor babies are safe now.

That is wonderful that you are getting them a larger cage to live in. Do you sit near the cage and talk to them? Once they are happy having you near the cage and carry on normally then slowly and gently start to place your hand inside the cage, hold some spray millet so they see you are being nice to them and not trying to grab them. It will take time poor babies I hope they soon relax and learn your a positive and friendly person.

I do talk to them a lot. I also sing to them which they seem to enjoy. I'm worried how I'll get them into their new home. Any suggestions?

Congratulations on getting your babies a new cage! You can wipe it down with some white vinegar (you don't have to dilute it) to clean it when it comes
You can scoot the new cage close to their old one for a few hours so they get used to seeing it, and then move some of their favourite toys and perches into the new cage. Move their water and food into the new cage and scoot the front door of the new cage right up to the front door of the other cage (if possible) so they can just step in. If this isn't possible, move the two cages into a small room with none of the other animals in it and put the cages as close together as possible, if they will step up onto a perch you can move them like this or if necessary, gently reach in with a small towel and pick them up to put them in. The last option is best done at night when they are sleepy

Best of luck and I'm sure they'll love it!

How cool is that. Your bird's will love it for sure. I agree with Starling, clean it good and move it next to the other with the doors open...
