Default How to prepare a second hand cage?

Hi all,
The other day a bought a huge new cage for my little lady off eBay (it was an impulse purchase and it used to house 4 budgies happily!).
I was just wondering what the guidelines were on cleaning and detoxing the cage before letting merlin near it? Do I have to quarantine the cage for any length of time just in case?
Any advice would be much appreciated! I can't wait to start decorating it for her

Check it carefully to ensure there are no spots of rust or bare spots of metal.
Assuming there are not, you can go ahead and begin cleaning/disinfecting it.

I'd scrub it down thoroughly with F10 Disinfectant
F10 SC Veterinary Disinfectant safe for all pets dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, 100ml concentrate: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies F10 SC Veterinary Disinfectant safe for all pets dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, 100ml concentrate: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies

Alternately, you can use a mixture of 50% bleach/50% water to scrub it and then rinse it VERY thoroughly.

Allow the cage to completely air dry (preferably in the sun if possible).
