Wooden Double Breeding Cage

I wanted to build a 4x4x7 feet wooden flight cage for my budgies :)

Without any knowledge and experience I was not confident so started researching. After gathering as much information as I can, decided to build a double breeding cage first to have the confidence and experience to do that :D

So here is the wooden double breeding cage

Wood (I have lengths of 8 feet x 3.5 inches x 1.5 inches and 4 feet x 3.5 inches x 1.5 inches)

Tools, Screw and Nails I use

Sketch for working and calculations

Dimension = 24x18x48 inches

Dimension of each breeding section = 24x18x20 inches

Gap between sections for tray = 2 inches

Size of frame of Door = 7x9 inches

Size of Door = 6.5x8.5 inches (0.25 inch gap on each side)

Required Cutting of Wood (4 feet x 0.75 inches x 0.75 inches) machine work not mine

Cut these to required lengths for basic frame
48” 4pcs
22.5” 10pcs
18.5” 2pcs
16.5” 14pcs
7” 6pcs
6.5” 4pcs

Basic frame (screwed together by 2 inch screw after drilling)

Mash Installation

That's how use the nails to attach mash

Wooden Framing (to cover the sharp ends of mash cut this 8 feet 0.75 inch x 0.20 inch to required lengths)

chirper,

Your new wooden double breeding cage looks absolutely wonderful! :2thumbs:

It was very kind of you to include the explicit instructions along with your pictures in case other members would like to make their own.
