Default Thoughts on this cage please?

Thank you to everyone who said kind words about poor lovely little Lemmy RIP. We have decided to get another bird in a month or so, and have found someone who has some year old tame budgies to rehome. As part of the settling in process, as rocky can be a bit "top dog", we thought we would also change the cage, and this one looks to be about the right size (we live in a flat so space is at a premium!). Would this be ok for 2 budgies do you think?

Thanks!

That's a lovely cage for two budgies! The cage itself looks very nice and will be an excellent piece to add to a room. My cages aren't so architecturally pretty -- they're just big boxes. I love it!

Hi,

I believe the bar spacing on that cage is too wide.
Quote:
Filigree Cage with delicate details and extensive décor, and plenty of added extras to go inside, bar spacing: 1.3 cm
1cm is he maximum bar spacing for a budgie cage.

I have used ZooPlus myself- I got the Ferplast Piano 6, Finca Pequeno and the Finca Melodia. All of these are pretty much the same as Tiffanie said- just boxes, lol!
But the Piano is a really nice sturdy cage, the Finca Melodia is amazing value though not as sturdy.

Actually, 1.3 cm is a half-inch which is the recommended bar spacing.

Thats a very nice cage from zooplus snd good value too...this is another one from Amazon (Liberta Oregon Flight Cage) for around the same price but because its not domed there is more flight space for the budgies and also its ever so slightly bigger plus the bar spacing is less than a half inch for any teeny bopper budgies who might consider themselves a Houdini fan I love cage shopping and spent months deciding before I eventually settled on this one for my guys

1.3 cm is actually a tiny bit more than half an inch...its just something to consider when getting your budgie as if he/she is small in size they might squeeze through 1.3 cm

Wow, I love the cage Birdigirl recommended.

Having the additional space provided by a flat top cage is always a bonus in my opinion.

The actual measurement for 1/2" spacing between bars equals 1.27 centimeters or 12.7mm

I agree, the one Birdigirl linked looks great! It also is less expensive than the other two, while still being well made. Personally, I would go with that one

I have a Montana cage similar to that, the front drop down bit is very handy for them out and about. I don't tend to open the top with the new babies. Perfect for two.
I like the look of the cage and also When space is a premium it fits well with the decor.

The other cage is great too so you have a good choice - good luck
