Default Size of cage

Hi just wondering what size would be best for our feathered friends. Is height better than width for a large bird cage or visa versa? So many on the market now. Noticed this one for sale. Thanks in advance x

Budgies fly laterally so width is more important than height.

Bigger is always better when it comes to cage size.
Please ensure the spacing between the bars is no more than 12 mm

There are loads of choices out there and taking the brilliant advice above don't rush into it. Do your research as you need to think about cleaning too. Good luck buying the birdies new home is exciting xx

The spacing should not be more than 12 mm which equals 1/2"
If the spacing is 15mm (5/8") the bars are too far apart and a budgie can get its head stuck between them.

The spacing can be LESS than 12mm
For example a cage with spacing that is 9.525 mm would be 3/8" which is perfectly acceptable.

Does that help?

You're very welcome.
I'll be interested in seeing what cage you choose.
