Default Perches and water

Hi
How many perches I should have in a cage for two budgies?(they always sit next to each other) I have these two perches right now:

Petco All Natural Hardwood Perch | Petco Store

https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcost...ural-fir-perch

And I have a swing:
[url]https://www.amazon.com/Kabob-2-Inch-Carnival-ChewablePerch/dp/B004TS2JEO/ref=sr_1_3?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1485485523&sr=1-3&keywords=bird+kabob+shreddable+bird+toy[url]

I ordered another perch which will be coming soon. https://www.amazon.com/Pollys-Pastel...s=pollys+perch
Are these all good perches, and are they enough?

Also, I have never seen my budgies drinking water. Is this something to worry about?
Thanks!

This is tough to answer because the number of perches you provide will depend on the size of your cage and the size of the perches. Those perches all look quite nice but again, it depends on the size of your cage as well. Put the perches in the cage and see if you think they have enough, also be sure not to crowd the cage too much, especially since you have two birds. Looking at the measurements, I would probably do at least one more perch, but again it depends on your cage, and it's hard to say without seeing the cage with the perches in it.

As for water, I wouldn't worry about it, unless they start showing signs of dehydration such as being lethargic and weak. Budgie take small drinks of water every now and then and they do it very quickly so it's rare to actually see them drinking.

Would you please post a photo of your cage?

Perches should be various sizes to exercise feet.

Some folks like "Comfy" perches. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcost...-comfy-perches

Budgies don't drink much water, but water should be fresh each day.

You might want to think about adding in either a grapevine perch or a multi-branch perch if there is room when you arrange the cage.

You may also need to get a second swing.

Grapevine Perch:

Multi-Branch Perch:

Calcium Perch:

Comfy Clam Perch

Pedi-Perch:

These are all safe for your budgies, help to exercise their feet and legs, assist in preventing bumblefoot and are favorites of all my birds.

This is the cage I have:

Also, I change their water at least 2-3 times a day, so it is fresh all the time

Rope perches can be a problem.
I don't use them in my budgie's cages at all as you never know if a budgie is going to have the tendency to chew on them.

Some budgies will and some don't but I choose not to risk it, myself.

There are plenty of other types of perches that you can use instead.

That said, for certain budgies (especially those with problems with their feet) rope perches may be a good option as long as the perches are checked carefully on a daily basis.
