Lightbulb Ernie's Cage "Renovations"

Hi, everyone! Just looking for some tips on putting a new branch in Ernie's cage. Here are the details about the branch:

I am 100% positive that it is an untreated elm tree branch. It is a Siberian elm branch, is that breed of elm safe for budgies?

If it is okay to put it in the cage, how should I clean it?

Any advice will be appreciated! Thank you!

I'm not sure if it's safe, you'd have to check the safe plant list if you're uncertain.

If you find out if it's safe you might want to put it outside the cage so Erie gets used to it. Once he is happy with it outside the cage, you can add it to his cage.
make sure you do it so he has enough time to get used to his new layout, especially if you move other bits around as well.

Just make sure it is safe first.

Elms are listed as being safe, but I just wasn't sure if all elms are safe. Thanks for the advice!

I've moved your thread over to Do It Yourself.

Here is the link about Safe Woods and how to treat branches before using them in your budgie's cage.
If you are unsure about a particular wood - don't use it!
